My life is blessed. God has been so faithful in every way to meet every need that we have ever had. I have no reason to believe that He will not continue to meet our needs!

There was the church I grew up in Waco and attended through college. That's where I first learned to serve - first in a bus ministry to mostly inner-city kids, then as a piano teacher and Children's Church leader, then as a Bible Study leader. How God blessed me in my time there.

In 1984, I moved to Dallas and then got married in 1985 and we attended Metroplex Chapel in Euless and were there for nine years. This was an incredible time of learning to do ministry as a couple. We taught three-year-olds, led a home group, served on leadership teams and worship teams and when we left, we thought we'd never find people or a pastor that we loved so much anywhere else in the world. We were there basically from the beginning of the church's existence and the church was running over 900 when we left. How God blessed us in our time there.

In 1993, we moved to Wichita Falls and lived there seven years. That is the time that we brought home our two sons (ask me sometime about the BIGGEST baby shower in history if you weren't a part of it!) This was a time of serving in leadership and worship, as Sunday School teachers and I led a Women's Bible Study and continued teaching piano. We learned more about servanthood and leadership, but also learned about receiving from others. When we left there, we left some very precious friends, some that taught me how to be a mother! We started attending just as the church was moving from a traditional format to more of a contemporary format. While we were there, the church grew from around 200 to around 900. How God blessed us in our time there.

And for the last eight years we have lived in Oak Point and have attended McKinney Fellowship. These have been the elementary school years for my boys and so I learned about volunteering:) I also began working a little more outside the home and finally gave in to joining a church staff for the first time in my life! We have learned about serving in leadership and worship and as Life Group leaders. Again, God has taught us more about what it means to minister to those around us. We have some precious friends here (some that we have reconnected with from twenty years ago!) The church celebrated its ten-year anniversary last year and we are running 1500+. How God has blessed us in our time here thus far...and I truly believe the best is yet to come. I truly sense that God is doing something incredible here. Most recently, we are learning to "receive" again!

And so it is true - there is a time for everything. God has us all on a journey. He has a purpose for our lives and He has a plan.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:1-11
